What is it about?

Is often an irregular method to get money from investors for their own project. For this purpose, tokens or coins are issued to the investor in exchange for fiat money or other cryptocurrencies. With an ICO, the crypto company can bypass the strictly regulated process of raising capital for the issuance of utility tokens and coins which is required by banks or exchanges.

ICOs can offer unique opportunities, but they are also associated with great risks and it is not uncommon for an ill-considered investment in an ICO to result in the subsequent total loss of the money invested.
